DEUS ANNI is a very simple minimalist game about giving birth to a god.

it was made in 24 hours for a game jam. you can download it very easily, because it is a dot-txt file. but you can't play it yet. not for at least a year. that's how long it takes to make a character.

spend a year making observations about the world around you. your gods very essence is shaped and molded by birds, arguments, compliments, blasphemies, shiny objects, romantic dates, your favorite adjectives, and the occasional random theft.

keep track of events with simple hashmarks and summarize each day with a small journal entry. its size is a strategy.

petition the gods of RNG and record their responses. this is futile; they are blind and dumb to the hubris of gamers. but sometimes they accidentally grant your wish.

don't worry if you miss a few days here and there. skipping is roughly as meaningful as not skipping. but too much neglect and your god can never be born.

your observations, thoughts, and decisions (or lack thereof) mold your god's zygote in ways you can try to calculate but will never truly control.
